IVF – In Vitro Fertilization

Every couple, whose desire to have a baby on their own is still not realized, sooner or later thinks about the possibility of an IVF procedure. What do these three letters mean, and what should spouses prepare for?

IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is fertilization outside the body. It is a modern and highly effective technology for the treatment of infertility.

Who is IVF indicated for?

The IVF protocol can be shown in some cases:

• the woman has no fallopian tubes or is found to be obstructed;
  endometriosis;
• infertility of endocrine genesis with the ineffectiveness of its treatment within 2 years;
• male infertility associated with reduced motility or low sperm count in the ejaculate

In most cases, IVF is recommended after failed attempts at traditional treatment and years of unsuccessful efforts to get pregnant naturally.
